Guest police fiche: obligations for hosts in France
Updated: September 2026
When renting a furnished property to a foreign-national guest, the host must have them complete and sign an individual police form on arrival. This obligation is separate from the furnished tourism registration number.
Who is affected?
Any host renting to a foreign-national guest must collect a police fiche (this includes EU citizens; there is no EU exemption). Official guidance: https://www.service-public.gouv.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F33458. Model form: https://www.service-public.gouv.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/R71162. French guests may be registered optionally depending on your internal workflow.
What information to collect?
Identity, nationality, date and place of birth, address, stay dates, signature. Glint provides a public link or QR with compliant fields and digital signature.
Retention and transmission
Forms must be kept for 6 months after departure. They are only transmitted to law enforcement on official request. Glint does not send them automatically.
