Croatia: accommodation categorisation and eVisitor

Updated: September 2026

In Croatia, you must obtain official tourist accommodation categorisation before advertising, then register every guest on eVisitor within 24 hours of arrival and report departure within 24 hours of checkout. Sojourn tax (boravišna pristojba) is calculated from eVisitor data.

Tourist accommodation categorisation / approval

Before any listing, household accommodation (ugostiteljske usluge u domaćinstvu) needs approval and categorisation from the competent county state administration office (upravni odjel), or the City of Zagreb office where applicable. The Ministry of Tourism and Sport sets the framework (pravilnik) but does not issue every county rjesenje. See https://psc.gov.hr/hospitality-and-catering-services-in-the-household/1416. Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1028, platforms verify registration from 20 May 2026.

eVisitor: property object registration

Create an account at evisitor.hr and register your accommodation object. You need the object ID for guest check-in and check-out reporting. Categorisation and eVisitor are separate obligations: one covers the listing, the other mandatory guest reporting since 2016.

Arrival / departure reporting within 24h

Register every guest on eVisitor within 24 hours of arrival (check-in) and report departure within 24 hours of checkout (https://www.gov.hr/en/tourist-registration-and-deregistration/1432). Tourism inspectors check pre-season and peak season. Glint collects fields via check-in link, validates data and prepares CSV/printable export. You submit manually on evisitor.hr. No live API in this release (Rhetos integration planned for phase 2).

How Glint helps

Glint does not submit to eVisitor, it tracks categorisation and object ID, collects guest data, validates fields and manages the 24h due queue for arrival and departure. You remain legally responsible for submission on the official portal.

Centralize compliance with Glint

Guest register, registration number tracking, SES queue and city playbooks, 14-day free trial.
